Somewhere
4×5 large-format black-and-white photography, 2019-2020
In this series, I create moments of tension through elusive narratives. Each photograph captures a frozen point in timeline, simultaneously reflecting the past and hinting at the future. The images are meticulously choreographed and composed to emphasize a balanced interplay of visual elements, mirroring my own tendency to immerse myself in a new setting and harmonize with the scene. The subjects subtly interact with one another through gestures such as grabbing, holding, and touching. They offer a metaphorical representation of the hidden emotions that arise in these exchanges. By carefully arranging my subjects, I highlight their significance while intentionally leaving certain details ambiguous, allowing viewers to form their own interpretations and psychological responses.
